Meet The Face Behind FORDPIC PHOTO PRODUCTION

I’m Henry G Ford, the proud owner of FORDPIC PHOTO PRODUCTION. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I was always interested in photography from a young age, and my prized possession was my first camera, a Nikon FM. During my travels through the United States as a teenager, my passion for photography only grew as I went to photo exhibits and visited photo and video producers in the media and film industry.

However, after my camera broke, I pursued several career options from a librarian, a taxi driver, a journalist, a banker, and a community organizer. Then twenty years ago, I rediscovered my passion for photography, got back into the business, and the rest, as they say, is history.

In the decades I have been involved with photography, the landscape has changed considerably. Initially, I worked with film and analog cameras but now have adapted to use digital cameras to their full potential in traditional family photography, social media, and advertising.

The part of photography that I most enjoy is the storytelling aspect. I found a photo is not a product of the camera but the mind of the person that pushes the shutter release, so I create mental outlines of stories before I take photos. My philosophy is “a story is told through the storyteller, not the story-maker.”

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my honesty, clarity, speed, and professionalism.

I attribute my success to my discipline and background as a journalist and creative artist.

The response from people to my photographs has been highly gratifying. My business has grown mainly through word of mouth rather than commercial advertising, and this has given me immense satisfaction over the years.

When I am not at work, I like serving as a volunteer in communities. I provide photography training to the youth who wish to take up photography as a career.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
